The organizer of the 2011 Aquatic Veterinary Sessions at the World Veterinary Congress, and Aquaculture Biosecurity Program. WAVMA was formed in 2006 as a global not-for-profit Professional Association to serve aquatic veterinary medicine by enhancing aquatic animal health and welfare, public health and seafood safety, in support of the veterinary profession, aquatic animal owners and industries, and other stakeholders.

As a collaborative effort between several veterinary organization, the IAVBC has and will organize and run the 2009 and 2011 International Aquaculture Biosecurity Conferences in Norway. Addittional effort for workshops and other conferences for advancing the development and implimentation of practical and standardized approaches in in preparation.
